I started with an Edge 25 for my cross bike - simple, small, light. It worked well for about a year, then the bluetooth failed. No amount of troubleshooting was able to resurrect it. My next Garmin was the 520. I found it a pain to use, but eventually got used to it, even though it was never great at navigating, often alerting me about upcoming turns well after the turns had passed. It's now dropping power data intermittently, and showing thousands of feet of erroneous elevation. Garmin's resolution was paraphrased 'You're out of warranty and must have ridden it in the rain. Send it back at your expense, wait 30 days, pay $100+ tax, and we'll send you a refurbished one.' I'm not sure this is good use of money. Any thoughts/similar experiences? The final straw on updates for me was the last one I did reset all my settings. I had to completely set it up again like it was a brand new unit, and setting up screens is a pain in the ass. My current 510 is actually a warranty replacement after a firmware update killed the ANT+ antenna in my old one. I have no idea why they can't let you set up screens in the app and then Bluetooth sync them over. I'm going to third (4th, 5th? Lots of strong support for this head unit) the Wahoo Bolt. The user interface is great. It's reliable, it's a sleek and clean design.
